38.62° SOUTH - Sunset

Last weekend I headed south for a few days with my new teardrop camper, just to test it out. I had no expectations of getting great conditions for photography, but yes I packed my camera gear.

Port Campbell caravan park was to be my home for 3 nights.

Sunday evening I headed to Gibson Steps when the light conditions looked promising and boy was I treated to an amazing sunset. This beach is one of the worlds great wonders, with the towering stacks of Gog & MaGog dominating the scene just off the beach. Although there were plenty of people on the beach the swell kept them mostly out of the scene and as the sun set the sky lit up. A friend next to me taking photos complained when a beach goer wandered down into the scene but I took the opportunity to capture him to give the image some scale.

I managed to get a few different compositions in both portrait and landscape. I always try to capture a scene in both formats so I have a choice if clients want to purchase an image as a fine art print.
